Sweden is a wonderful country. Sweden and Swedes have a lot to offer. The two largest islands are Gotland and Öland, but Sweden is so much more.

Sweden borders to Norway in west and Finland in east.

Sweden, Denmark and Norway represent Scandinavia. Sweden and Norway was a union from the end of the 19th century until 1905, until de different political opinions led to a resolution.

The Nordic countries are Sweden, Finland with Åland, Norway with Svalbard and Jan Majen, Denmark with Faeroes and Greenland and Iceland.

Sverige and EU:

Sweden is a member of the European Union since 1995. Swedens roll in the union is important because the countrys big awareness of the environment but also because Sweden wants to contribute to cooperation within Europe. Norway, Iceland and Russia are the only countries in the northern Europe outside the European Union.
The European Union has 25 members today, instead of 15 as earlier.
