 |
 |
| Trip to Dalarö: Dalarö is south/southeast
of Stockholm. Take road 73 and choose road 227 by Jordbro towards
Dalarö. |
 |
| If you are going to Dalarö for one day, the
harbour is a very good start on the trip. There is a lot to see here
and the place has a rich history. |
 |
| Dalarö has a museum in the old customs building
and it is definitely worth a visit |
 |
Another attraction is the Society building.
The building had royal guests back in time. Oscar II and his family
used to come here. |
 |
| Trip to Adelsö: You can take your
car, either by the ferry "Slagsta Strand"- Ekerö or
via Bromma - Drottningholm - Ekerö (there is an additional ferry
from Ekerö to Adelsö in both alternatives). |
 |
| You can find ancient remaining from the Vikings
who lived in Birka, an island close to Adelsö. Det finns även
mycket annat att uppleva på ön. |
 |
| We recommend the museum in the area - Uppgården,
where you can learn more about the history. |
 |
| Trip to Vaxholm: There are many ways to
reach Vaxholm by car. The easiest way is to drive towards Norrtälje,
E18 by Järva Krog (Järva Krog is by E4 towards Sundsvall
or Stockholm) and then towards Vaxholm/Värmdö, road 274. |
 |
| The beautiful city Vaxholm is situated just next
to "Stockholm Skärgård", the archipelago. The
city is wonderful all seasons. |
 |
| Attractions in Vaxholm: Bogesund´s castle,
Vaxholm´s fortress (with museum), the museum of Vaxholm and
of course the city itself. |
 |
| Trip to Värmdö: There are many
ways to reach Vaxholm by car. The easiest way is to drive towards
Norrtälje, E18 by Järva Krog (Järva Krog is by E4 towards
Sundsvall or Stockholm) and then towards Vaxholm/Värmdö,
road 274. Pass Vaxholm and continue towards Värmdö. Combining
your car with a ferry is the best way to discover Värmdö. |
 |
| Attractions in Värmdö: Djurö, Arholma,
Stavnäs, Runnarö, Möja among many others. There is
a lot to experience in Värmdö and it is a very nice trip
for a family. One day is not enough, we recommend at least two days
and preferably one week, to have the chance to experience all attractions.

Gamla Stan: To
the top |
| Stockholm has a medieval city centre and it is
called Gamla Stan. |
 |
| There used to be a ring wall but unfortunately
not anymore. There are clear remains of the middle ages though, in
both houses and alleys. You can also find remains from the Vikings.
|
 |
| Västerlånggatan is a fantastic shopping
street with a lovely ambience. No one leaves Gamla Stan without an
opinion about Gamla stan. |
